Parent Representative Needed to Serve as SAC Secretary
Deepen Your Involvement at PAS
Time Commitment: approx. 2-3 hours per month
The PAS School Advisory Council (SAC) is looking for a parent representative to serve as SAC Secretary who can commit to attending meetings for the remainder of the '25-'26 school year. This is a great opportunity for a parent who wants to be more involved with the academic and institutional side of PAS.
The role includes taking notes and attendance at monthly SAC meetings and updating two SAC websites. Beyond that, you can bring what you want to SAC: ideas for school improvement, student achievement, and parent & family engagement.
Meetings are usually held on the 2nd Monday of the month. The meeting dates for this year are:
11/17: 3:45 PM, Library (SAC)
12/15: 3:45 PM, Library (SAC)
2/9: 7:30 PM, Zoom (SAC & Coffee with the Principal)
3/16: 3:45 PM, Library (SAC & HSA)
4/20: 3:45 PM, Library (SAC)
SAC is a group of peer-elected stakeholders that includes parents, staff, and community members. The SAC is a forum for discussion and collaboration with the PAS administration on school-based decision making with a focus on student achievement and school improvement. Some of the projects have included traffic and safety, implementing the feedback from the School Experience survey, and building an inclusive school community.
Parents and guardians are always welcome to attend any SAC meeting!
Please email current SAC Secretary Liz Wing if you have any questions about the role or if you're interested in joining SAC as a parent representative this year.
