About the Home and School Association of Penn Alexander

The Home and School Association of the Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander University of Pennsylvania Partnership School (HSA of PAS), an unincorporated 501(c)(3) organization, is made up of you: hard-working parents, caretakers, and educators who support the school through fundraising and volunteerism. All current parents, guardians, faculty, and staff are voting members of the HSA. The HSA is run by its Board of Directors. Members of the Working Groups contribute and support the Board.

The HSA's goal is to help maintain, empower, and further enhance Penn Alexander School in order to provide the best possible learning environment for our children.

BOARD MEMBERS   WORKING GROUPS

What the HSA does:

  • Raise money for school and classroom programming including the school’s full time art program, for building and playground supplies, and to ensure ALL students can participate in everything.

  • Promote school spirit and community involvement by planning, coordinating, and funding events such as the Ice Cream Social, Fall Festival, Ice Skating Party, Pancake Breakfast, Bingo Night, and the PAS 5K.

  • Help keep all members informed of school activities & news, coordinate room parents, and bring in guest speakers.

  • Support teachers, staff, and the principal by recognizing accomplishments, through teacher appreciation week, by subsidizing professional development opportunities, by reimbursing for teaching supplies, and by acting as administrator for 'pass-through' payments.

  • Volunteer at key school activities, events, and class trips.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the HSA.

In addition to the HSA, the Penn Alexander School has the following organized groups:

School Advisory Council (SAC) is a forum for discussion and collaboration with the PAS administration on school-based decision making with a focus on student achievement and school improvement. The SAC champions the work for improved student achievement, effective teaching in the classroom, parent and community engagement in the educational process, and communication and support between home and school.

The Penn Alexander Equity Circle shares values, stories, and truths, taking concrete action to build a strong, inclusive community that welcomes and supports all families, all religions, all races, all gender and sexual identities, all abilities, and all cultural and economic backgrounds.

Thank you for your support!
