"Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek..." The Penn Alexander School stage will transform into a faraway kingdom this May as we bring the hilarious and heartwarming world of Shrek The Musical JR. to life. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and the fantastic Broadway musical, this production follows everyone’s favorite ogre as he leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
VOLUNTEER BUILD DAY: Saturday, April 11, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM
We are looking for adult volunteers to help the cast, choir, and crew of Shrek JR. on Build Day to build set pieces, sew costumes, paint backdrops, build props, and get ready for our upcoming production. BYO Sewing Kits and Tools! Refreshments will be provided. All K-5 students attending must be accompanied by a parent or adult chaperone. For Build Day, please enter through the 43rd Street blacktop entrance.
VOLUNTEER CLEAN UP: Friday, May 15, 8:30 AM-12:00 PM
We also need adult volunteers for Clean Up to break down the stage and set pieces, organize costumes and props, and clean up after our shows. BYO Tools! Refreshments will be provided. For Clean Up, please go to the main entrance, sign in at the office, and then head to the gym.
USHERS NEEDED ON SHOW NIGHTS
We are looking for adult volunteers to usher, sell Hershey Kisses & T-shirts, as well as promote the Silent Auction before and during the show. Get a free ticket when you sign up!
If you'd like to sew costumes or build set pieces ahead of time, please email Ms. Larese.

Penn Alexander is committed to keeping the art of musical theatre alive by producing quality shows. Only a portion of our costs to produce the show is supported by ticket sales. There are a few ways you can support our organization.
T-SHIRT SALES & SHOUT-OUTS: February 1-March 27
- Purchase a T-shirt for you or your child, $20. T-shirts will arrive by the beginning of May. A limited number of T-shirts will be on sale at the performances for $25.
- Purchase a "shout-out" message in the program, $5. Families can celebrate their star with a personalized congratulatory message "shout-out" for the cast, crew, or choir to be featured in the Playbill. Text only. Limit 50 words.

Support the arts at Penn Alexander by purchasing a sponsorship in the Shrek JR. Playbill. Businesses can showcase their services, and family members can purchase a personalized congratulatory ad. Your ad helps make this production a success and leaves a lasting memory for everyone involved!
We also need your help in soliciting businesses for potential sponsorships. Do you own, work for, or frequent a business that might be interested in advertising to the PAS community?
TICKETS, FLOWERS, and HEADBANDS
- $10, available April 6 through May 7.
- $15 at the door if space is available.
- Children 3 and under are free! Due to space constraints, we may ask children 3 and under to sit on a lap.
- Tickets will be sent home with your youngest child on Monday, May 11.
- Add on an ogre ear headband for only $5!
- Celebrate your favorite performer’s hard work with a beautiful flower bouquet! A timeless way to say “Bravo,” these small floral arrangements are the perfect way to honor the cast, choir, or crew after a spectacular performance. Pre-order for $8 and pick up at the performance to give to your child OR choose from a limited supply for $10 on show nights, if available.

During show nights, enjoy featured artwork created by our talented design crew and PAS students. You can participate in a silent auction to bid on these unique pieces, with winners notified after the event.
KISSES FOR THE CAST
Show your pride for the cast, choir, and crew by sharing encouraging messages and purchasing “Kisses for the Cast”! During show nights, you can buy Hershey Kisses for 25 cents each or 5 for $1 to send a sweet treat and a special note of support. (CASH ONLY)
