Help with the 5K

Our Biggest Fundraising Event of the Year!

Planning has started for the 12th annual PAS 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run, to be held on Sunday, June 2 at 8:30 AM. We need help with:

Running Clubs: the more parents who can help mean the more children who can participate in these popular clubs. Clearances needed.
- Mr. Hunn will lead the 5K training club on Mondays and Wednesdays April 15 - June 7 for grades 3 - 5. Please email him if you can help. You don't have to be a runner! Just standing at corners to help kids cross the street is a big help.
- Ms. Schaffer will lead the Fun Run training club for grades K - 2 on Thursdays, May 9, 16, 23, and 30. Please email her if you can help.
Soliciting Prizes: we need many prizes for the various age categories. Contact Dr. Kreidle if you can help out.
- Can you send a few emails or drop off letters at local businesses asking for gift certificates, free passes, gift baskets, etc?
- Can you donate a prize yourself?
Day-of Race Volunteers: we need approx. 100 people to help make this event a success!
- New this year: 'On-course' 5K volunteers will receive a FREE snack bag.
- All day-of race volunteers will receive a FREE T-shirt.

Committee jobs include helping leaders to:

Sign up our race on the RunSignup website
Determine the course & create maps
Manage volunteers
Procure supplies, food, and beverages
Training (spring student running clubs April-May)
Fundraise
- Obtain prizes such as gift certificates and free passes from businesses
- Secure T-shirt sponsorships from businesses
- Obtain medals
Market the race
- Local running clubs
- Running stores & websites
