Be a Safer Neighbor

Everyone's Actions Matter; NO Double Parking!

In an effort to reduce accidents, to ensure emergency vehicle access, and to allow teachers and children safe entry and egress, please take a minute to read how your actions can make a difference in keeping everyone safe.

MORNING DROP OFF Guidance

  • 43rd Street is for drop off only. Drivers should not leave their car unattended.

  • If you want to park and walk your child to the blacktop, please park on Locust or Spruce Streets. You are permitted to park for up to 20 minutes in the School No Parking Zone.
  • Do not block the bike lane! The bike lane must be kept clear at all times to ensure safety for all the students arriving to school by bike. If you are planning to drop off, and the curb is full on 43rd Street, turn right on Locust Street, and park in the School No Parking Zone and/or circle around to Spruce Street.
  • NO DOUBLE PARKING.

AFTERNOON PICK UP Guidance

  • 43rd Street: You may park along the curb only for up to 20 minutes.
  • Do not block the bike lane! The bike lane must be kept clear at all times to ensure safety for all the students traveling by bike. If the curb is full on 43rd Street, turn right on Locust Street, and park in the  School No Parking Zone and/or circle around to Spruce Street.
  • Please note: there is always ample parking on Spruce Street. You can reduce your anxiety by going directly to park on the Spruce Street curb. There is also an access gate on Spruce Street to enter the school grounds and connect by path directly with the blacktop.
  • FYI, you are permitted to park for up to 20 minutes in the School No Parking Zone.
  • NO DOUBLE PARKING.

BIKERS

Please do not block empty parking spaces in the staff parking lot in the morning or obstruct the staff parking lot at pick-up.

Consider driving less

Click HERE for an EPA article about the benefits of walking: "What if we kept our cars parked for trips less than one mile?" The bottom line is you save gas money, improve air quality by lowering emissions, and improve your health through increased physical activity. Stay tuned for some exciting safety improvements that are in the works thanks to members of SAC!

dogs

Dogs are not allowed at PAS. Dogs are scaring children. Also, some people's religion does not allow them to touch dogs. From the handbook: "for the safety of our students and staff, please refrain from bringing your dog on school property (inside the schoolyard) or on the sidewalk during the opening of school. This is a school district policy." If you wish to stay near the blacktop at drop off, please congregate on the CVS side of the street if you have a dog with you.
