Dear Penn Alexander Community,
Our Giving Tuesday site is live! Every year we depend on the generosity of our families and community to help sustain transformational programs at Penn Alexander School.
Didn’t we just ask for a donation at the beginning of the school year, you may be wondering? Yes we did, and we will be asking again next month for contributions for teacher and staff holiday gifts. The reason we appeal to you throughout the year is because every dollar you donate goes straight back to your child’s classroom in one form or another.
Without ongoing support from parents like you, Penn Alexander simply wouldn’t be able to continue offering programs, activities, and materials to support our children and teachers, such as:
Arts Program: full time art teacher and ample art supplies
Classroom Programming, Teaching Materials & Field Trips: dissection and science experiment materials, ballroom dancing lessons, in-class yoga, etc, plus supplementing field trips so everyone can participate
After School Programming: sports teams, middle school dances, 8th grade graduation
Teacher & Staff Support: school supplies, professional development, software, books, voice amplifiers
Campus Improvement & Play Equipment: new basketball nets, volleyball equipment, playground equipment, garden supplies
Last year, 60% of families donated $48,000 toward the 2021 Giving Tuesday Goal of $50,000. This year our goal remains $50,000 but more importantly, our goal is to have 80% of families participate in Giving Tuesday. To that end, we are having a Giving Tuesday - Grade Participation Competition. Grades with the highest family participation for making contributions of any amount will receive extra recess!
Families can participate by donating online at HSAPennAlexander.org/GivingTuesday, writing a check, or sending cash back in your child’s Pony envelope. All donations to the HSA are 100% tax deductible, and every gift, large or small, makes a huge difference in the lives of our children, teachers, and school community.
Please consider a donation to Penn Alexander this Giving Tuesday so we can renew our 3 year commitment to our arts program and maintain our exceptional, Blue Ribbon Award winning school! Thank you for your support!
