Message from the Principal

Greetings, PAS families:

We invite students who celebrate Diwali to wear their traditional attire tomorrow - Monday, November 13.  Thank you to the families who are organizing a presentation for our 1-3GR students tomorrow.  We look forward to learning about and honoring this important holiday for members of our community.

Tomorrow at 3:45pm, is our monthly School Advisory Council meeting.  All our welcome to attend.  Please use our library entrance.

On Tuesday evening, we have a freeDominos & La Cultura  for all students in grades 5-8.  Ms. Umberger and two UPenn student groups have organized an evening of celebrating and learning about the Latine culture. Pizza and prizes included. Please click HERE to RSVP by tonight.

Also on Tuesday at 6pm, we are hosting Dr. Marsha Richardson from Penn to talk to parents about managing social media for kids.  If you missed the deadline to register, please reach out to Dr. Kreidle at kreidlea@upenn.edu.

This is our last week for the Harvest Food Drive in support of the University City Hospitality Coalition.  This is our 22nd year in partnership to serve our community. Please click HERE to see what items are still needed.

Volunteers are needed on Thursday to help with Book Fair set up and then to work shifts during the Book Fair. All Book Fair volunteers may pick a book for FREE (up to $10 value)! Sign up HERE.

Report card conferences schedules for November 27 will be coming out soon.  Look for announcements from your homeroom teacher later this week or early next week.

Thank you to families who have contributed thus far to Giving Tuesday @ PAS!  The campaign is running all month so that everyone has an opportunity to participate. Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday, the HSA's biggest fundraising appeal of the year, is upon us! Please support your child's public school and donate today. Our goal is to raise $75,000 for the general fund so we can continue to support our full time art program, teacher & staff appreciation, teaching, classroom, and building supplies, and so much more. The grade with the highest family participation for making contributions of any amount will receive an extra recess.

Donate HERE. Thank you!

PAS Community Profile

HSA is kicking off this year's Community Profile by featuring Ms. Luftun Nahar Popy. This initiative features staff and teachers in our community that parents may not have an opportunity to get to know or may have not met or seen on the blacktop but whom the students know very well. Past profiles have included custodial team members and crossing guards. Please click here to learn more about Ms. Lutfun Nahar Popy!
