Message from the Principal

Tomorrow - Wear Red or your Phillies gear to cheer on the team!  All other uniform guidelines apply.

Fall Festival is almost here! On Wednesday from 4-6pm, we will turn our school into a joyous indoor carnival with fun games and tasty treats. Your pre-ordered tickets will be sent home with your youngest child on Monday, October 23. Tickets will also be available to purchase with cash or credit at the Festival. Thank you to everyone who donated supplies and books for the festival!  Reach out to Ann Kreidle at kreidlea@upenn.edu if you have Festival questions.

On Wednesday, we are kicking off the 22nd annual Harvest Food Drive! Through November 17, we invite students to bring in food, toiletries, PPE, and supplies to support the University City Hospitality Coalition.

On Thursday, we invite students to participate in Unity Day by wearing and sharing the color ORANGE. By wearing the color orange we hope to show solidarity against bullying and to deliver a message that encourages students to unite in promoting kindness towards others, accepting differences, and inclusion of all.   All other uniform guidelines apply.

Please join me on Thursday at 8:45 for Coffee with the Principal in the lunchroom.

From SAC...

The PAS School Advisory Council (SAC) is looking for a middle school parent representative who can commit to attending meetings for the remainder of the '23-'24 school year.  Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month from 3:45-4:45pm.  The meeting dates for this year are 11/13/23, 12/11/23, 1/8/24, 2/12/24, 3/4/24, 4/15/24, and 5/13/24.

SAC is a group of peer-elected stakeholders that includes parents, staff, and community members. The SAC is a forum for discussion and collaboration with the PAS administration on school-based decision making with a focus on student achievement and school improvement.  Some of the projects we’re working on this year include traffic & safety, implementing the feedback from the School Experience survey, and building an inclusive school community.

Parents and guardians are always welcome to attend any SAC meeting!

Please contact SAC Chair Vidya Plainfield if you have any questions about the role and if you're interested in joining SAC as a parent representative this year: vidya_plainfield@yahoo.com
